Video Camera's (with Night shot)

The Video camera is a very important part of a Paranormal Investigators' equipment, one with night vision is the best sort to have as it allows you to record a perfect picture in total darkness. You also have the opportunity of picking up orbs (Ghost Manifestations) , whether it is used in daylight or in the night shot mode. We as a team have eight camera's which are either used as individual camera's for vigils or as locked off camera's in particular rooms with activity this all depends on the nature of the location. We also use these camera's as locked off one's as and when needed.

Locked off Camera's

These Camera's are night shot with 12 powerful infra red LED's giving off up to 15 meters of light ( easily floods a pitch dark room, more so than a standard video camera). The team uses 4 of these camera's in various configurations. They work off the mains and come with 20 meters of cable supplied. We use these as locked off camera's due to there ease of using plug them in and away you go and their only 3 inches round so very easy to place in awkward places. We also use these along with the Microphones below and with the 800 meters of extra audio and video cabling we have, there's nowhere we can't reach from our hub room.

Microphones

A Microphone can be used with a camcorder or a tape recorder. These Microphones have a adjustable sound pick up area, with a flick of a switch you can zoom in on an area in front of the microphone ( useful when you have a certain area or object that makes noise) or you can select it to listen from all around it. These microphones are used mainly in conjunction with the Locked off camera's as these can be placed within the view of the camera eliminating any doubt that a whispered voice heard was not of a crew  member standing next to the microphone. We have two of these microphones in the team.

Large Digital Camera

This is used before and after the investigation to get the good quality shots of interior and exterior, moody shots etc. During the investigation you haven't got the time to focus it and light the area before hand.

Small Digital Camera

This camera is used during the investigations as it's small (credit card size), light weight and most importantly very simple to use, just point and click even in the dark. It takes seconds to take a photo and can store over a hundred high quality shots, Perfect for when you think they may be something else in the room with you.

APS film Camera

This is used the same as the small digital but as a hard copy back up just in case you lose the digital images!!! It has been know!!! And you then have a film you can get checked out as well as your digital copy.

Torches

The torch is an essential item to have on an investigation especially when you go it alone in dark places preferably one with a belt clip or a way of carrying the torch with out having to use your hands, you may need them unexpectedly.

Thermometer

This is a non-contact infra red thermometer, this will only give you a temperature of the object or wall your pointing it at, It will not give you atmospheric temperature. But still useful on investigations when a object feels hot or cold after supposed poltergeist activity. ( when an object is thrown or moved).

Dictaphone

Used to record EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). This is mainly left in a silent  room for half an hour at a time after asking a spirit to talk into it or asking a question for the spirit to answer.

EMF Meter

This meter measures the level of EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) from most electrical appliances etc. But most importantly it can be used to detect a spirit. The easy to read scale, 2 level readings (0 to 1 mG, & 0 to 10 mG), and an audio signal make it simple to use and is a great way to find those hidden sources of EMF.  This item was  used in the UK Living's  "Most Haunted" first series. The team now holds six of these, this ensures each group has one during an investigation.

Radio's

The Binatone MR600 Two Way Radio has features such as eight channels and a two-mile range. We have a set of four. These are essential for communication in big buildings where the team is split up on paranormal investigations.
