The Moat House

The team members who were present on this investigation were:-
Nick French, Steve Sturch, John Alldridge, Mark Harper, Keith Bailey, Dave Blower, Sarah Drakeley, Sheryl Blower & Ann French. The guy’s started to arrive from about 21.00 onwards at the Moat House to start to set up the equipment (camcorders, monitors and video recorders) and to discuss the plan for the investigation. They put a locked off camcorder’s in the Tower (No1), Ground floor kitchen (No 2) and Function room kitchen (No 3). These were all connected to the monitors and video recorders. They set up trigger objects in the:- Tower - A Hairbrush, Nursery - Little Teddy & Car, Ground floor kitchen – Marbles on a light covering of flour
22.00pm Dave & Bailey walked around the Moat House doing the EMF meter readings and the room temperatures.

23.30pm All the video’s started to record the locked off camcorders.
23.40pm Sarah, Ann & Sheryl went to start their first vigil in the Function room kitchen.
00.00pm Ann thought she saw an orb coming from behind the camera and going across to the middle of the kitchen.
00.02am Clicking noise coming from the store room by the gas cylinders. (There are electrical cables along the ceiling going into the store room)
00.05am Ann asked out for a spirit to make contact with us – No response
00.08am Asked for “William” to respond to us – No response
00.10am Asked again - No response.
00.12am Sarah went a walk round the kitchen and store room, as they all felt cold air, heard clicking noises, creaking and a rustling noise. The clicking noise from the store room turned out to be a boiler and the cold air was due to a small window being open. The rustling noise and the creaking were caused by the big fridges cutting in and out.
00.20am The girls left the kitchen and went to watch the monitors with Steve.
23.50am Nick and Dave got ready to go down the cellar to get to the tunnel, Years ago this was supposed to lead to Tamworth Castle. Unfortunately it has been bricked up along the front of the building to support the floor. When they were coming out of the cellar they noticed a small hole in another wall. It wasn’t big enough for either of them to get through but they did put the camera in and they could see that it was once a room under the stairs, they could also see a door way. (May be this has something to do with the Priest Hole that is blocked up). From here Dave and Nick went on a walk around in on the top floor.
00.45am Dave, Sheryl, Sarah and Ann went to spend some time in the Library. They familiarised their selves with the surroundings and settled down. They then started to ask out for any spirits to make them selves known, a few times but to no avail nothing responded. Not in either noises or orbs.
01.15am Ann, Sarah and Sheryl with cameraman Dave, made their way upstairs to the Function room. They sat at the dance floor with their backs to the wall looking towards the Bar. Dave set the camera and went back down stairs.
01.25am Ann and Sarah both felt very cold and Ann very emotional, she was almost to the point of crying.
01.30am Ann and Sarah saw a black shadow near one of the tables that seemed to be bobbing up and down.
01.40am Mark and three guests came into the function room to join the girls
01.47am Sarah went down stairs, the guests and Mark went into the function room kitchen
02.00am Ann and Sheryl left the function room and went back down to watch the monitors.
02.10am Steve and Mark went up to the function room kitchen to investigate some noises and to see if they could make contact with “William”. They were asking out for a response but they heard nothing. They were in the Kitchen for about 25 minutes.
In the meantime John and Bailey were on the top floor investigating the various rooms. John picked up on a female spirit named Emily and a date of 1836; also he picked on the name of Rebecca. This was in room 3.
While they were in room 6, John picked up on a baby called David with the year 1748 and a lady crying.
02.20am Nick, John, Dave, Bailey and Mark (John’s friend) were on the top floor in room 2. They had a go at table tilting, but there was no response.
02.30am Sheryl and Ann joined the lads, Ann joined Nick, Dave and John at the table and Sheryl had the camcorder. They again tried table tilting with Ann asking out. We were all very disappointed that yet again there was no response.
02.45am We all went down stairs to see if anything was happening on the monitors that were recording the locked off camcorders.
On the three locked off camcorders we caught the following on tape:-

00.33am Light flashing
00.36am Two Orbs
00.42am There was a clicking noise in the room
01.13am Flashing light going from the top of the screen to the bottom
01.14am Flashing light going from the top of the screen to the bottom
01.23am Flashing light going from the top of the screen to the bottom
01.27am There was an Orb on the left of the screen
01.33am An Orb on the right of the screen went from the top to the bottom
01.34am An Orb went from the left of the screen to the centre
01.40am The camera seemed to be shaking
01.42am There was an Orb in the centre of the screen that went towards the floor
02.02am Again there was an Orb that went from the middle of the screen to the bottom
02.12am There was a couple of Orbs on the right hand side of the screen
03.09am There was an Orb that went from the bench down to the right
03.18am There was an Orb that went from the top of the screen to the bottom
03.22am There was an Orb that went from the top of the screen to the bottom
03.35am There was an Orb that went from the middle of the bench down towards the floor
04.12am There was an Orb on the right hand side of the screen

03.13am There was an Orb from the shelving that went down towards the right of the screen

Nothing was seen by the telly watchers. The tape has yet to be checked.
In conclusion this was a very disapointing night with nothing really going on. The whole place had a different feel to it.
